Mission

Our mission is to provide an educational opportunity to children to develop in a holistic manner by strengthening them mentally, physically, intellectually, morally and spiritually; thereby, helping them grow into socially responsible, confident and happy citizens.

Core Values

Children will be –

In brief, the children will have the benefit of receiving a value-based multi-faceted program encompassing academic, cultural and scriptural aspects, from an early age for achieving an overall happy, healthy, and holistic development!

Value-Based Individual Goal

After finishing school and moving ahead into adult life, each individual will have the core foundation to perform to the best of their talent, capacity and capability.  They will be ready to face the challenges of the world, be accountable and face the judgement of others based on the quality of their work & integrity of character.

This is the secret to a successful and a happy, content life, no matter what role in life the person performs.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy believes –

* An Ideal Student is believed to be born happy, innocent, eager and curious by nature, who is molded by the environment in which he or she lives and grows in.

* An Ideal Guru is believed to be one who teaches, nurtures, expects, encourages, motivates, and praises each and every student in their endeavors to reach beyond their limits, no matter how big or small they are.

* An Ideal Holistic Learning Environment is believed to be a place where a student loves to come to, a haven of warmth and care, safe and secure, where they can grow mentally and physically, morally, and spiritually for success and satisfaction in life.

How will Jnanodaya Academy achieve their goal?

The children will be exposed daily to scriptural as well as modern education of the current times. They are believed to be like sponges, soaking up knowledge as they explore with their restless bodies and inquisitive minds.

Conventional Education:

Opportunities will be provided for the children to be proficient in the whole spectra of STREAM* to be current with the conventional education. Age-appropriate educational tools will be utilized to make every effort to unleash the unrealized inherent potential and talent in the children. Some of the life-skills include team-building, hands-on innovative projects, quizzing, art and craft, math challenges, public speaking and creative writing. The children’s time will be balanced with guided training in the various subjects, resting and free-play to stimulate their curiosity and learning while having fun.

*STREAM – Science, Technology, Reading, English, Arts and Math

Scriptural Education:

Children will be exposed to the abundant knowledge found in the scriptures of Bhaarat via multiple strategies, including story reading and enacting of epics (Ramayana & Mahabhaarat), Puraanaas, Bhagavad Gita chanting, popular shlokams, Yoga & Ayurveda, Vedic Math, cultures and festivals. The children will become aware of the huge contribution of Bhaarat to the world. The scriptural knowledge would be the backbone to help the children in finding a balance in life as they grow into responsible adults.

COLLABORATORS

Trained as a scientist from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Dr. Sesha S. Akella-Nag, after a brief stint in the Biotech area, left the profession to take care of family. Volunteering in the school in numerous roles (including Math-lab, FAME, Science-demos, PTA, PRAA, SSC, chairing annual programs), she found her niche in teaching and ended up taking the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Working for a couple of school districts as a short-term and a long-term substitute teacher for over ten years, through the entire spectra of preschool to high school, she gained a plethora of experiences and insights into the behavioral management, learning and teaching strategies, including GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design). Furthermore, she has experience providing private tutoring on a one-on-one basis or in small groups to children from kindergarten till junior high students. She conceptualizes and creates innovative lessons and adapts them to the different learning styles of the children. She believes in a strong foundation with ethical values to be inculcated even before the children enter school. This led her to take the required units in Early Childhood Education. She loves to serve and has been always involved in different non-profit organizations since childhood. She has quite a few hobbies of painting, sewing, running, reading, creating educational games and writing books. One day, she would like to grow a beautiful kitchen garden as well! Besides being proficient in speaking English, she is also adept in Bengali, Telugu and Hindi.

Her dream is to help steer the children reach the epitome of their inner potential by balancing scriptural values with modern education to bloom into constructive healthy torchbearers of this wonderful world we all live in.

During her long tenure as an experimental physicist and a techno-administrator of a research organization, Dr. Sangeeta had been associated with various scientific awareness activities among kids and youth. She hails from an agriculturist family that has always valued the close relationship with nature. During her childhood, she had planted at least 100 saplings of guava and mango trees, which later blossomed into beautiful and bountiful orchards. She is passionate about using her rich family values, vast professional experience and intense educational background (PhD in Physics) to serve Mother Nature by understanding the rich heritage of Bhaarat and its abundant literature (sanskriti and saahitya). Education in the world-renowned Banaras Hindu University only seemed to have enriched the inherent thirst for indigenous cultural flavor. This endeavour has led her to renew studies in Samskrtam after a long gap and enjoy the treasure it holds. She is an active member of Indian Women Scientists Association; which in addition to holding a plethora of scientific activities, also works for developing the scientific temper among all age groups. She pursued a few hobbies as and when time permitted her in the busy family and career schedule, including vermiculture, gardening, sports, yoga, and music.

She believes in impressing the young mind with a scientific outlook in their daily activities that are in sync with the surrounding environment. Such practical exposure would assist today’s youth in understanding the subtleties of the beauty of Nature along with the importance of preserving it; which seems to have now become more critical and vital than ever for preserving the precious planet. She is eagerly looking forward to bringing in her knowledge and expertise in making a fruitful difference in the lives of the children.
